Black and White, Photography by Sara Atkins Photography.
While in Monterey recently I had the opportunity to shoot a nice fella named Nick. We had a great time wandering the streets of Monterey trying to find interesting places to shoot.

We decided to meet in downtown Monterey near Alverado street and just see what we could find.

My Dad, Photography by Sara Atkins Photography.
This is my Dad, he turns 60 years old today. 60 is a pretty big milestone, and he has reached it with grace. I love this shot of him, his eyes are saying a lot. In fact they sum him up pretty well. As his daughter, I can give you a little hint:
Those eyes are saying, 'I will do anything for you. I will even sit here and let you take my picture even though I am not a huge fan of getting my picture taken. Because I love you.'
Thanks Dad, and Happy Birthday. I love you too.

Daily Walk, Photography by Sara Atkins Photography.
It has been a pretty great week. We have Shasta at our place now and we are starting to get into a bit of a routine. Every morning and evening we go for a walk and Shasta loves the dog park at point isabel.

This is Rita the great. She is a foster kid, gone wrong. Her mama just couldn't let her go.

Play time, Photography by Sara Atkins Photography.
The best part about the dog park is that there are some many dogs, all different shapes and sizes and they play until they drop. It is pretty entertaining, and it keeps the dogs happy.

This is probably one of the biggest dogs I have ever seen. She made Shasta look like a miniature. So sweet.

This week Shasta has started really playing. She is all legs though, she looks a bit like a baby deer when she plays.

Tail Wags and Whimpers from Shasta:
Wags:
- I Gained 5 lbs!
- I Stayed home alone for the first time and didn't destroy anything!
- We went to the vet and the vet said that I have already been fixed, no surgery!
- I have become the life of the party at the dog park
- The cats are starting to accept me
Whimpers:
- I stayed home alone for the second time and destroyed several things.
- The vet thinks I might have an infection in my uterus
- I still have really bad infections in both my ears
- The cats still think I'm funny looking
All in all, things are going well. Have a great weekend!

Did I mention that I love my job? If you know me at all, you must have heard me mutter those words at least a thousand times. I am pretty sure I say it every day. I mean seriously, what other job places you in the exact moments in peoples lives when they are at their happiest? I L.O.V.E. it. And I love Liam.

I was lucky enough to not only get to do these newborn pictures of Little Liam, but I also got to do his maternity and baby shower photos. You can see them HERE and HERE

This is my favorite. I ask mom and dad to get super close with their little one. You can just see how happy they are. Despite the lack of sleep and the feeling that they have no idea what they are doing (if it is their first), they are simply happy. It is a moment when you can see that they are now complete. They are for the first time a true family.

Shea is such a great mama. And you can see that she is the whole world to Liam. Perfect.

And this is Liam's favorite hold. Mike puts him in has arms like a little football and Liam couldn't be happier. There is no safer place than in daddy's arms.

The Irish in him can not be contained.

Thank you for letting me have a peak into the life of the new family you have created. You are so sweet and Liam is a charmer already!
2 year old wishes, Photography by Sara Atkins Photography.
I had the pleasure of being in Austin for little Micah's 2nd birthday party. As a person who lives for chasing after munchkins with a camera in hand... this was like photographer heaven. The party was 'green' themed. So all of the gifts could only be used or recycled. I thought it was a brilliant idea. What does it mean for a 2year old? Less plastic to get in the way of the super cool toy waiting to be enjoyed. These are a few of my favorite picks from the day...

Micah was such a joy, and clearly enjoyed his day surrounded with his friends and family. And one enormous blow up water slide.
