I made it! On my flight over I met a wonderful older couple that took me under their wing and helped me around the airport and gave me their info, just in case something should happen. They were very kind. I was then met by Steve, the boogie bus driver and he took me to my apartment. The car we went in was rather questionable, but I decided I would take the risk. My new home is wonderful! Ann (the owner) introduced me to my new home and I was then whisked away by two students to go to lunch.

Everyone is sooooo nice! I spent the first night alone as I was the first one to the flat. Not too much has happened yet, just trying to get adjusted.

This is my cute little kitchen.

Thank you for all of the notes and please keep me informed on whats going on back home.

I am leaving for South Africa tonight and I can not believe my time in the city of London is over! I am really excited to get to my next destination, but it is going to be really hard to leave the one I am at. I love the people, the night life, the history, the art. What a wonderful place I have come to! The last few nights I have been staying at a friends place, and you would not believe how hospitable the people are here. Last night we had a lovely 5 course french meal, what a fun night! It was really fun to be the only American. I have never thought of the American accent as exotic, but you won't catch me correcting anyone. Well, I better get on my way, I must catch the tube and jump on my plane. I am really not looking forward to another 11 hr. flight.

London is wonderful!!!!!!!!!! I have had a great time walking around the city and have met some really wonderful people. It is rather cold here, although everyone says we are lucky because it was 30 below last week. The first few days are a bit of a blur because I did not sleep for more than 48 hours. I did not sleep at all on the plane ride over, and then had to check out London as soon as I got here.

I walked around the city and met several people and headed to a great dive bar the first night. The Hostels are actually really nice and a good way to go if you don't have any money. EVERYTHING in London is very expensive. Yesterday I went to the Natural History Museum, I felt like I was back in my wildlife bio classes. They have some really great specimens, many of which are now extinct. Today I went to the Tate Modern Museum, there were some very moving pieces...if only I could take pictures!!!

I think by the time I am done in London the soles of my new shoes will have holes in them, I have never walked so much in my entire life. I am not going to be able to add pictures until I get to Cape Town, but I have taken some wonderful pictures. I will write more later, when I get more computer time. Take care!
P.S. Mom- I am doing fine, don't worry!
