Life is changing so quickly. We only have a week left in our little home now. It is less of a home at this point than a cardboard box maze. The boys are loving it, Frankie especially. He loves to find a cozy spot amongst the piles of boxes waiting to be filled. I am constantly worried that I will accidentally tape up a box with him in it. Who knew that packing could be so complicated?
To be honest though, I really do love moving. I find it cleansing, especially the part where I get rid of things. I suppose I enjoy it because we moved so much when I was young. Now that I am the adult and responsible for packing more than just my teddy bear, it does seem a bit more daunting. However, I do find joy in it. This morning for example I stumbled upon all of the ticket stubs and photographs I had saved from my very first trip to South Africa. The trip where I met and fell in love with my husband. I had so many good intentions of putting them into my little scrap book. One day they will make it there, but for now they are safely packed... right next to our sleeping fur ball.
I can't wait to "see" where you go next! Have fun!
(02.22.10)What a sweet picture of Frankie! Have a safe trip Sara and please keep sharing your adventures with us!

I love these and all your comments. Will send you some Costa Rica pics when we get a chance.
Love, Carol
(02.03.10)Bah! Cannot, can NOT find him! This is why I never made much of a birder... So glad you found one though, I wasn't sure if they'd be out in the morning. Beautiful shots!
(02.03.10)Hehe. Don't worry I will tell you tomorrow. The little bugger is hard to spot! Thank you for the heads up, it was so much fun being out there!
(02.03.10)I can't find him either! I do love these photos...they are so pretty...you have inspired me to take walk outside. Perhaps at work tomorrow. =)
(02.03.10)I think he's on the rock. To the left of the middle of the photo there's a black rock that sticks out into the water. Above and to the right of this rock is a grey/peach rock. In front of this rock is where the owl is located. -- Mind you that Jamison saw this and I'm the one who's having to describe it.
By the way, is the owl that you photographed up close... does it have one leg?
(02.03.10)Hehe. This is fun. Really good try Shelly, but no luck. He is a sneaky little critter! Cindy, I hope you enjoy your walk and take your camera!!!

We made it back from South Africa... minus a few selected items from our luggage. Apparently Charlie's watch and the perfume that he gave me for Christmas were just too nice to pass up. Oh, the joys of traveling. But we made it back and I suppose that is enough to be thankful for.
When we got back Uncle Bill picked us up from the Airport (that's right, 92 is not too old to drive!). We went back to his house to pick up the kids and when we walked in to the house we were greeted by a rather rotund Franklin. He was 14 pounds when we left him. Now he is topping the scales at 17 pounds. I think it might be time for a kitty diet. My mind is whirling with images of our not-so-little Frankie sweating away on a treadmill... not likely. I suppose it is time for a diet.
Frankie is just like the rest of us, if there's food left in the bowl you just have to eat it -- and eatit Frankie did. Sorry Sara, I just gave them one level cup of food twice a day. I guess Frankie ended up eating too much of Linus's helping. Good luck, Frankie, on your treadmill regimine.

They have been home for a couple of weeks now and their personalities are blossoming. The tortie kitten is a little girl, Gene named her Sally. She is the more rambunctious of the two. A naughty little rascal but so so loving. The ginger is a boy, named Harry. Rightly so.
The kittens have brought the home to life with sounds of little paws scampering about. It will be crazy to see how much they have grown when we come back next year.
So cute! perfect little companions for Gene. I wonder what the baboons will think! dd

(03.02.10)Ahh... what way to start a week. There's nothing like seeing someone else routine and glimpsing into their life. Your Unlce Bill is a sweatheart. And I so glad that he has friends that share his enthusiasm for life.
(04.07.10)My Uncle Bill is a sweetheart. Thanks Shelly!
