Spring, originally uploaded by sara.atkins.
I took this image several weeks back and haven't gotten a chance to put it up until now. I love it. I love the blue empty space. I love the fresh feeling of spring. I actually took this while on a job. Did I mention I love my job?

Growing up in the Evanger family, easter was a HUGE deal. Being the youngest of three I was always running after my brothers and when it was time to find those eggs I was always eager to try to get the most. I remember the excitement as we all had to wait inside for the 'Easter Bunny' to hide his little prizes all over the yard. We went through this ritual until a couple of years ago. To be honest, the only reason I was not out there looking for the eggs this year was that I was too busy watching little Priya in her first hunt.

As you can see, Priya's first hunt was well documented.
This weekend was my darling little niece's second birthday. The day was filled with sunshine, laughter and way way way too much sugar! The perfect birthday.
The munchkins had so much fun playing in the back yard. Thank goodness for Papa and Nona's handy work with the play structure.
This little one has the most beautiful blue eyes and porcelain skin. This was such a sweet moment.
With all of the excitement of the day (and maybe coming down from a sugar high) little Priya needed a quite moment with Nona.

With her birthday just one day before Easter this year, the party would not have been complete without easter egg coloring. And the kids jumped right in.
When the eggs were all colored there wasn't a kid in the place without brightly colored finger tips.

the very life of life.
In its brief course lie
all the realities
and truths of existence,
the joy of growth,
the splendor of action,
the glory of power.
For yesterday is but a memory
and tomorrow is only a vision.
But today well-lived
makes yesterday
a memory of happiness
and every tomorrow
a vision of hope.
Look well, therefore, to this day!

I thought it was about time for another little snippet into the life of a 2 year old. My little niece is such a cute little monster. And she clearly has learned her sense of fashion from her Auntie Sara (AKA where's Charlie?).

On the way out to the fields we passed by little Evans house and, well, who can say no to those eyes. So he jumped in the wagon and came along for the ride.

We made it to the fields. The flowers were out in all their glory and we were determined to find those little red bugs.

Evan turned out not only to be one handsome little fella, but pretty darn useful as well. I have an apprentice photographer!

It is amazing what fascination one little red bug can bring into the eyes of a child.

Next stop, tree climbing. It is amazing if you think about it. This little person wasn't even walking up until a few months ago. Now she is climbing trees!

And she couldn't be more proud of herself.
But Nona..., originally uploaded by sara.atkins.
So, how do you convince a two year old that we do eventually have to say good night to the ladybugs and head home? You bribe her with a cookie.
