In case you don't know me, I am Sara (that's me to the left, the one without a big white furry coat). I am a photographer based in the San Francisco Bay area, California. Being sick on holiday is no fun at all. Fortunately being sick while riding a horse on the beach makes it a little more bearable. About half way through our trip (when I was almost recovered and Charlie was just starting to get sick) we headed to Sleepy Hollow to go for a ride at Noordhoek beach.

Charlie taking it all in as he rides along the shore...maybe I will make a rider out of him yet! The slopes of Chapman's Peak rise to the right at the end of the sand. The peak in the distance is Karbonkelberg, west of Hout Bay.

See that smile on my face? This was pretty much the highlight of my trip. It is amazing to be back on a horse again... now if only I could figure out how to pack this sweet old horse into my luggage.

Thank you so much, ausome photos and great captions. So glad that you had a great ride. Sorry for the winter. Still boiling hot here, but the South Easter wind has picked up and blowing a gale. Yesterday afternoon we could not do a trail as there was a fire at the Kommejtie end of the beach and the helicopters where flying over the beach to pick up water from the sea. Kind regards Lisa
