Welcome Hey there, thanks for stopping by! Welcome to my little corner of the internet, my place to share my voice and photography. In case you don't know me, I am Sara (that's me to the left, the one without a big white furry coat). I am a photographer based in the San Francisco Bay area, California. I LOVE my work, and you will see a bit of that sneaking in here. I also use this as a place to share other parts of my life. You will find adventures, food and little tidbits about my life with my darling husband and our two fat cats.  Please feel free to have a look around and even leave me a note. I would love to hear from you!

She is shy. She is polite, but she is shy. It takes time to earn the trust of a twelve year old. You can't just expect to sit them down and tell them to smile and expect it to be genuine. To really get their personality to shine you have to involve them in the  process.

I ask her why she thinks her mom wants a portrait of her. What does she want to capture? She tells me it is because her mom wants to torture her. I tell her I totally get where she is coming from, but that I spoke to her mom and it was something quite different. You see, her mom doesn't have any pictures of herself when she was a little girl, and is unable to show her what she looked like when she was little. Her mom adores her little girl. In fact, this little girl reminds her so much of herself that she wanted to be able to hold onto these moments forever. Just as she is now. So when she is a mom and she takes her little girl for a portrait, she can show her these images and tell her all about why it is so important to capture the precious memories of youth.

And those are the images that she will show her own children one day and remember how much she loved their grandma.
