It is true. I am hopeless when it comes to all things fashion. I hate to shop, I get overwhelmed by all of the choices around me. I can not stand the mall. I know, I am a weirdo. However, a few friends have taken it upon themselves to show me how much fun fashion can be. And of all places, they have managed to introduce me in a place called Athlon in the Cape Flats. This is not exactly known as the fashionistas haven, in fact, it is somewhat of a shady area. You would be amazed at the treasures we found!

We spent over an hour in a single shop looking through piles and piles of silk skirts made from old Saris. In the beginning I was pretty sure I wasn't going to be able to find a single thing for myself. I walked out with seven skirts.

So, I guess shopping can be fun. The recipe: four girls, lots of colors and laughter. I might be able to get used to this, or I might have a wardrobe that is comprised solely of silk skirts.

Sounds like your having fun, buy tops to go with skirts.
(01.03.10)I hate shopping too, but sounds like you had a delightful time. I'm jealous! AND... I agree with your dad... buy tops too.
(01.03.10)See shopping isn't all bad...can't wait to see your sari-skirts...Looks like you are having fun...Hope you had a good new year.
(01.03.10)Hehehe... I suppose I can't go around just wearing skirts! THe nice thing about Cape Town is that most of the time I am running around in a bikini and don't require a top. That might not fly in California though!
(01.04.10)I think you're right tops, might to over rated. And you may get a tad cold... but I know you can handle it, right? Enjoy the few last days of warm weather. It's chilly back here. Can't wait to see your new skirts.
