Welcome Hey there, thanks for stopping by! Welcome to my little corner of the internet, my place to share my voice and photography. In case you don't know me, I am Sara (that's me to the left, the one without a big white furry coat). I am a photographer based in the San Francisco Bay area, California. I LOVE my work, and you will see a bit of that sneaking in here. I also use this as a place to share other parts of my life. You will find adventures, food and little tidbits about my life with my darling husband and our two fat cats.  Please feel free to have a look around and even leave me a note. I would love to hear from you!

Morning Flower

We all experience it. We meet an amazing person and become great friends. And then life happens. People get busy and loose track of one another. And then one day someone picks up the phone...

Last night I had dinner with one of my favorite people, Kristin. I adore her. We went to college at UC Davis together. We met in the dorms and she has been someone that I hold close to my heart ever since.  We used to go to the dorm cafeteria for breakfast together and I would watch her eat her lucky charms. Each bite had to have just the right ratio of marshmallow to cereal. She was a very deliberate cereal eater. She always knew how to cheer me up. I used to come to her with my guitar and make her sing to me. She has the most beautiful voice. Like an angel actually. She was always there when I needed someone to talk to. She consoled me when I came back from South Africa the first time.  Just listened when I needed a friend. She played the piano in my grandma's garden on the day that I was married...

But life gets busy. About a year and a half ago Kristin went to Sierra Leone. She was there for about four months. I kept track of her and then... life happened. My photography business was picking up and she was experiencing life as she had never known it. Several days ago I got an email. It was Kristin. I was so happy to hear from her, we hadn't spoken in over a year! How does a year go so quickly? How did I go a year without speaking to someone that I like so much? Life.

Last night Kristin came over for dinner. I don't think we stopped talking from the time she walked through the door until she had to leave. We had so much to catch up on. We picked up right where we left off.

That was a really long winded way to say, hold on to your friends. Life is busy, but relationships are what makes life wonderful.
