Welcome Hey there, thanks for stopping by! Welcome to my little corner of the internet, my place to share my voice and photography. In case you don't know me, I am Sara (that's me to the left, the one without a big white furry coat). I am a photographer based in the San Francisco Bay area, California. I LOVE my work, and you will see a bit of that sneaking in here. I also use this as a place to share other parts of my life. You will find adventures, food and little tidbits about my life with my darling husband and our two fat cats.  Please feel free to have a look around and even leave me a note. I would love to hear from you!

Big Nose, originally uploaded by sara.atkins.

I was done blogging for the day... I really was. But then, my dad emailed this picture with the words 'Shasta misses you.' Geeze. He knows how to get a mama's heart strings strumming. So, for all of those inquiring minds I thought I would give a little Shasta update. By the way, I thought I would mention that I got far more comments about Shasta than any other photography I have posted. I could take this two ways. Either I am a fabulous pet photographer or you all find my pet rescue stories far more interesting than my actual work. I am going to go with the former. Pet photography anyone?

So, on with the update. Shasta seems to be doing really well. We had to take her down to my parents place because we have a somewhat neurotic neighbor that is afraid of dogs. Rather than having to deal with her shenanigans we figured it would be easier to just give her to my parents until we can find a bigger place. My parents recently lost one of their golden retrievers so it was almost perfect. I say almost because I hate not having her with me. Shasta and I have a rather pathetic attachment to one another. And we both have a penchant for the dramatic.

Before I took her down the vet gave her a clean bill of health (thank goodness!). She is still struggling to put on weight, but hopefully that will change. Mom has been feeding her ground beef and eggs and anything else she can get her to consume. The dog eats better than most people.

Charlie and I go down to my parents place whenever we can. I take her for runs and spoil her rotten. So for now, Shasta is happy as a clam. Cute little critter.
