Welcome Hey there, thanks for stopping by! Welcome to my little corner of the internet, my place to share my voice and photography. In case you don't know me, I am Sara (that's me to the left, the one without a big white furry coat). I am a photographer based in the San Francisco Bay area, California. I LOVE my work, and you will see a bit of that sneaking in here. I also use this as a place to share other parts of my life. You will find adventures, food and little tidbits about my life with my darling husband and our two fat cats.  Please feel free to have a look around and even leave me a note. I would love to hear from you!

Christmas 2007 055.jpg
Every year Uncle Bill (he is Uncle Bill to everyone, but really he is all mine) makes Bourbon balls. When Charlie started coming around the Bourbon balls began to disappear. Now every year it seems that there are two things that Charlie is anxiously awaiting. Eggnog and Bourbon balls. I'm not sure that it is a coincidence that the two things that he holds near and dear to his heart (and stomach) happen to be the two things which contain alcohol. Could this be due to the copious amount of family time that he is expected to endure? Perhaps he just wants a little social lubrication to help him appreciate all of the Christmas music.

Bourbon Balls
Sift:
4 Tbs. Cocoa
2 cup powdered sugar
Combine:
1/2 cup Bourbon whiskey
4 Tbs light corn syrup
Add and mix thoroughly:
5 cups crushed vanilla wafers
2 cups broken pecans
Roll mixture into small balls
Dredge in 1 cup powdered sugar
Eat and Enjoy -Cheers!

Hello Carol! Make them... but be aware that if you add the extra punch like Uncle Bill does, they will make you pretty giddy!
